CATHEDRAL PARKING LOT TO BE CLOSED STARTING JUNE 14 FOR LONG-TERM REPAIRS

The state’s Office of General Services has announced that, beginning Monday, June 14, the Madison Avenue parking lot adjacent to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
(often referred to as “Cathedral Parking Lot”) will be closed for up to five months while repairs are made to leaks that have caused the collapse of portions of the lot.

Parking options:

  • The Madison Avenue lot adjacent to the west side of the New York State Museum, accessed via Madison Avenue, is open seven days a week. Parking is free on weekends and
after 1:30 p.m. on weekdays. The cost is $5 between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on weekdays.
  • The East Parking Garage (located near the northeast corner of the Cathedral, access from Eagle Street and/or Hamilton Street) due east from the Empire State Plaza is free after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
  • Street parking around the Cathedral is available during religious services. Check signage and/or meters when parking.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this period!
