Dear Friends of the Cathedral,

I hope this letter finds you safe and healthy.  Although we’re presently in the midst of Covid-19 restrictions, we want to share some happy news that we pray will be welcome and successful: we are pleased to announce that the 23rd Annual Cathedral Classic Golf Outing will be held this year on Monday, June 21 at Wolferts Roost Country Club.

The Cathedral Classic has been the parish’s effort for the continued restoration of the Cathedral over the past several years; to date raising over $277,000 towards the ongoing restoration of the Cathedral! Over the last two years, we’ve been saving for the restoration of the four stained glass windows of Great Prophets in the Bishop’s Sacristy, as well as the six stained glass windows of the recently-renovated choir rooms above the Madison Avenue Sacristy. Hopefully, this year’s outing will bring us to our goal of $31,000 so that we can qualify for a $40,000 grant and finally begin restoring these ten windows at a quoted cost of $71,000.

The brochure (click here to view) provides more information about this year’s Golf Outing. The $200 player event fee once again includes greens and cart fees, lunch, beverages throughout the day, a post-play happy hour and the Golf Outing Awards Banquet (please bring a mask). This year will be a shotgun start beginning at 12:30pm.  For a $55 fee, those who don’t golf can still enjoy the happy hour, banquet and participate in auctions and raffles for the many fine donated items and services. Even if you aren’t able to join us, could I ask you to consider a sponsorship to assist with our window restoration?

We would greatly appreciate your participation as a Cathedral Classic sponsor, patron, player or attendee at the Golf Outing Banquet. The brochure (click here to view) includes information about participation and sponsorship levels. You can also help us by donating a service, raffle prize or gift certificate. For patrons and sponsors, every donation is acknowledged at the banquet and later in a parish bulletin insert. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Cathedral Rectory at (518) 463-4447 or email us at

Finally, thank you for receiving and considering this invitation to assist us in the ongoing restoration of the Cathedral.

Yours in Christ,
Rev. David R. LeFort
